Luke graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in 2004 and then began his professional career working for a national accounting firm in Toronto and London where he earned his CPA designation. 

A native of Listowel, Luke returned in 2010 when he joined Independent Accountants’ Investment Counsel Inc. (IAIC), a portfolio management firm related to Ward & Uptigrove, where he served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. 

In 2016, Luke joined and became a Partner in Ward & Uptigrove Wealth Management Inc. to begin working directly with individuals and families.  Luke is a Qualified Associate Financial Planner™, delivering customized financial plans to clients and serving as their guide in ensuring they achieve their financial goals and dreams. 

Luke is a member of Ward & Uptigrove’s Vet Advisory Group, supporting many veterinarians with integrated financial services.  Luke’s interest in supporting vets stems from his own grandfather who was a veterinarian and graduate of OVC.  He’s helped many practice owners accumulate and manage wealth.  Luke also supports Transactional Services, helping sellers’ transition into the next phase of their financial lifecycle. 

Luke also serves as a Director of Independent Accountants’ Financial Group (IAIC’s parent company).
