Wil graduated from the University of Western Ontario and earned his CA designation in 1983 while working at a national accounting firm in Kitchener. 

Wil moved to Listowel in 2003 shortly after he joined the Partnership of Ward & Uptigrove. He retired from his role as Partner at the end of 2019 and continues to provide business advisory services to his owner-managed business clients, preparing financial statements and advising on income tax planning, estate planning, purchase / sale of businesses, succession planning and general business issues. 

Wil has enjoyed serving on the boards of various charitable organizations and has been an active member of his church. Wil enjoys spending time with his family and in his spare time enjoys a variety of activities, including downhill skiing and golf.
