Tonya is an accomplished HR practitioner with a strong foundation in both education and experience. She graduated from Conestoga College with a General Business Diploma and earned her Human Resources Management Post-Graduate Certificate from Confederation College. Further expanding her expertise, she completed a Professional Certificate in Leadership from the University of Western Ontario.

A Certified Talent Management Practitioner (CTMP) with the Canadian HR Academy and a Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) with the Association of Professional Recruiters of Canada, Tonya has also earned certifications in Pay Equity, Workplace Investigation, DISC, and Driving Forces.

Since joining Ward & Uptigrove in 2014, Tonya has utilized her extensive human resources knowledge to offer expert HR advisory services to both private and public sector clients. Her expertise spans compensation, recruitment, employee relations, discipline, performance management, accommodation, and return-to-work strategies. As a Team Lead at Ward & Uptigrove, she provides coaching and mentorship to colleagues.  

Outside of her professional commitments, Tonya is a dedicated volunteer on her local School Council and also helps to manage her family farm.
