Installation Electrician (309A)

We are looking for a skilled Installation Electrician with a 309A Red Seal certification or a senior apprentice ready to write their exam.


This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems for grain bin storage and handling facilities. The ideal candidate thrives in physically demanding, hands-on work environments, is safety-conscious, follows strict electrical codes and guidelines, and comfortable mentoring junior electricians.



This is a full-time position based out of our Elmira manufacturing facility with regular travel to our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Installations: Install, wire, and test motors, panels, control systems, and automated grain handling equipment.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and repair electrical faults in grain bin systems, conveyors, dryers, and aeration systems.
  • Reading & Interpreting Plans: Work from blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to complete installations efficiently.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work meets Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) regulations and industry standards.
  • Teamwork & Leadership: Work collaboratively with other trades, apprentices, and supervisors to complete projects on time.
  • Agricultural Environment: Adapt to rural job sites, work in varying weather conditions, and handle grain dust environments.
  • Travel & Scheduling: Work long hours, including overnight stays and weekend work when required to meet deadlines.

What you bring

  • 309A Red Seal Certification (or Senior Apprentice eligible to challenge the exam).
  • Experience with agricultural electrical systems (grain bins, augers, dryers, conveyors).
  • Strong understanding of motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and automation in an agricultural setting.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces safely.
  • Valid G driver’s license.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work and long hours.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in remote locations.
