• Review timesheets, vacation requests to ensure accuracy and that it was approved by the appropriate staff member.
• Process timely and accurate payroll and payroll remittances, ensuring all statutory deductions and leaves are properly processed.
• Process timely and accurate tracking of vacation, sick and overtime banks.
• Process payroll documentation to ensure legislative requirements are met including but not limited to year-end, T4, record of employments, OMERS, reconciliations, pensionable and insurable earnings review, reports etc.
• Review and input onboarding documentation provided by HR for payroll purposes including but not limited to tax forms, staff information, OMERS, and direct deposit.
• Run and review reports monthly to ensure accuracy.
• Assist with ensuring payroll documentation is audit ready.
• Prepare payroll calculations for severance, terminations, retroactive payment, vacation pay, salary changes, including step increase and approved cost of living adjustments.
• Assist with the preparation of Council and Committee remuneration annual reports.
• Ensure all files and documents are maintained, stored accurately, and information is updated as appropriate.
• Responsible for data entry to the payroll system to produce a bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all staff, council/board/committee members, including verification of authorization, verifying pay calculation/hours and distribution of payroll statements.
  

What it Takes to do the Job

• College Diploma in business administration, or related discipline is required. 
• Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) through the Canadian Payroll Association, considered an asset.
• Minimum two years applicable experience.
• Public sector experience, considered an asset.

This position is part time working between 15 to 25 hours per week.

Hourly Pay Range: $27.63 to $34.54.
